What should I do if I am currently in crisis or experiencing an emergency?
DFW Christian Counseling is not a crisis counseling center. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to your local emergency room for evaluation.
Covid-19 Update as of 1/1/2022 - We have reopened our physical location and are accepting limited in person appointments. In attempts to promote safety and health among our staff and clients, we continue to monitor recommendations made by the CDC, medical professionals, and state and local government. At the current time, masks are required in the common areas of the office. Unvaccinated clients are required to wear masks during session. Mask requirements will be updated and posted in the entry to our office. If you forget your mask, we have masks available for you at the entry of our office.
How do I schedule my first appointment?
To schedule your first appointment, click on the "New Client Request" button on the Home page and follow the instructions. We will respond to your request within two business days. Because we schedule out for several weeks, the first available appointment may be several weeks away, but earlier appointments may come available due to cancellations.
Once we schedule your first appointment, you will receive an email notification to sign on to the portal to review our practice documents and complete the intake form. Please note that all paperwork must be completed in order to confirm your appointment. If you desire to cancel your first session after reviewing the documents, you may easily do so via the client portal. If you have questions about the paperwork, you may send us a secure message via your client portal.
After completing the online paperwork, it is suggested that you schedule additional appointments to ensure the continuity of your care. You may easily cancel these appointments online without charge if you do so at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. You will receive an appointment reminder via email and/or text (based on your selection when you complete the paperwork) 1 to 3 days prior to your appointment.
What is the best way to contact you if I have questions?
Our counselors are in session most of the day. Therefore, messages may not receive a response until the following business day. Existing clients may contact their counselor via the secure messaging feature of the client portal. New clients may request information by clicking on the "New Client Request" button on the home page and following the instructions.
What is the purpose of the client portal and how do I access it?
The security of your information is important to us. Your information is maintained in the client portal that you will access with the email address you use as a new client. Each member of a couple or family must have their own unique email address in order to request appointments and access their individual portal and paperwork. You may maintain your schedule and view documents sent by your counselor via your client portal.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
During your first appointment, your counselor will go over the information you signed and answer any questions you may have. The counselor will gather information about your history, your reason for seeking counseling, and your desired counseling goals. The counselor may also administer assessments as deemed helpful. Based on that information, your counselor will make suggestions regarding further treatment options.
