Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if I am currently in crisis or experiencing an emergency?

DFW Christian Counseling is not a crisis counseling center.  If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to your local emergency room for evaluation.

How do I schedule my first appointment?

DFW Christian Counseling provides the convenience of online scheduling.  To schedule a new appointment, you will click on the scheduling link.  Because we schedule out for several weeks, the first available appointment may be several weeks away.  If you desire to come in sooner, you may monitor the scheduling link for earlier appointment availability due to client cancelations.

Once you request your first appointment, you will receive an email notification to sign on to the portal to review our practice documents and complete the intake form.  Please note that all paperwork must be completed prior to your first appointment.  If you desire to cancel your first session after reviewing the documents, you may easily do so via the client portal.  If you have questions about the paperwork, you may send us a secure message via our website.

After completing the online paperwork, it is suggested that you schedule additional appointments to ensure the continuity of your care.  You may easily cancel these appointments online without charge if you do so at least 24 hours prior to the appointment.  You will receive an appointment reminder via email and/or text (based on your selection when you complete the paperwork) 3 days prior to your appointment.

What is the best way to contact you if I have questions?

Our counselors are in session most of the day.  Therefore, messages may not receive a response until the following business day.  You may submit a message or view contact information on the last page of our website.

What is the purpose of the client portal and how do I access it?

The security of your information is important to us.  All of your information is maintained in your client portal that you will access with the email address you use when scheduling your first appointment.  Each member of a couple or family must have their own unique email address in order to request appointments and access their individual portal and paperwork.  You may maintain your schedule and view documents sent by your counselor via your client portal.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

During your first appointment, your counselor will go over the information you signed and answer any questions you may have.  The counselor will gather information about your history, your reason for seeking counseling, and your desired counseling goals.  The counselor may also administer assessments as deemed helpful.  Based on that information, your counselor will make suggestions regarding further treatment options.

How long are appointments and what are your fees?

Counseling sessions with Renee Osborne, LPC, are 50 minutes in duration.  Fees are as follows:

Initial Intake Session - $135.00

Each session thereafter - $120.00

Do you see children and adolescents?

Renee Osborne, LPC, sees a limited number of adolescents.  Most adolescents and children are referred to Megan Blanton, LPC, RPT.  Megan is located in the DFW Christian Counseling office suite.

Do you offer sessions via video conference?

DFW Christian Counseling offers video sessions when circumstances warrant and it is considered beneficial to the client.  Typically, a face to face Intake session is required to determine whether or not it is in the client’s best interest.

Does DFW Christian Counseling Accept my Insurance?

DFW Christian Counseling is considered out of network with insurance companies and does not accept insurance as payment.  Therefore, you will be required to make payment at the time of your session.  We accept most forms of payment including HSA cards.  A receipt that includes all information necessary to file for reimbursement with your insurance company will be accessible to you through the client portal, should you decide to submit a claim for reimbursement.  It is advisable that you contact your insurance company to determine both your eligibility and reimbursement amounts for out of network providers if you plan to seek reimbursement.

How do I find your office when I arrive?

Our office is located on the second floor at 735 Plaza Blvd. in Coppell Texas.  We are just off of the Highway 121 (Sam Rayburn Tollway) service road on the north side.  There is plenty of visitor parking just outside the front door to the building. When you enter the building, you will see the elevator right in front of you.  You may also take the stairs, which are around the corner to the right. After exiting the elevator, turn left and enter the suite doors  (first doors on your left after the restrooms).

Once inside the suite, head straight back to the end of the hallway and the glass doors to our office will be on your left.  Take a seat in the waiting area and your counselor will greet you at your appointment time.

In the event that your appointment is scheduled after typical business hours, the door to the suite may be locked.  If so, your counselor will come to the suite door to greet you at your appointment time.
